Creating a Relaxing Baby Room

What better way to welcome a new baby into the family and into the home than with a nursery room. The goal is to create a room that is perfect for the precious little one. The parents will need a space where it is not too big or too small - just enough to accommodate the new baby. The space will not only have to be cute, but functional as well. Thus, putting furniture pieces and using a theme that the child can grow with is the ideal way of decorating a baby room.

For couples who do not want to know the gender of their baby before birth, light or powder blue would be the safest and most relaxing colour to use. Parents should then use the same colour scheme for the furniture and draperies to be placed in the room. They can purchase one roll of fabric from local shops to use in multiple ways. It can be made into chair cushions, beddings for the crib, and even draperies. When choosing pieces of furniture, like the dresser and changing table, it is best to select those that can last for as long as the child can still use them. For the crib, the parents can shop for something that will transform into a toddler bed so it can still be used as the child grows. Place a cosy bedding of the same fabric to complement the design of the room. Put a plush rug below the crib for baby's playtime. When painting the walls or furniture, it is best to use water-based paint to avoid causing allergy to the baby. Most importantly, make sure to fit rails so windows can be left open during the day to let natural air and light in.
